Spanish teenager Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the ATP Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel this week, leaving Guillermo Coria of Argentina to head the draw.
French Open semifinalist Nikolai Davydenko will be hoping for a home crowd boost at this week's St. Petersburg Open after a disappointing third-round finish at the Madrid Masters.
Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic reserved tickets for Seychelles before he played Metz two weeks ago but he might want to change plans after a 16-match winning streak and a jump of 8 place in the top standings, meaning he could qualify for the year-end Masters Cup.
Gaston Gaudio has kept alive his hopes of claiming one of the three remaining Masters Cup berths with a 6-3 4-6 6-3 defeat of Frenchman Arnaud Clement at the Lyon Grand Prix.
