Chinanews, Xi'an, Feb. 15 – Ruixue (nicknamed Niuniu), a wild giant panda, was attacked by 3 other wild pandas on December 28, 2006, and her left arm was torn off.Thanks to warm-hearted passers-by, Ruixue was saved from the jaws of death and sent to Shaannxi Endangered Wildlife Rescue Centre. However, veterinarians in the centre were not confident in securing Ruixue's recovery, as she had several fatal injuries in her back, ribs and legs, besides the broken arm.Eventually, with the help of animal keepers and veterinarians, Ruixue survived, but she would never return to the wild, as she could not deal with the hardships of nature with a broken arm.Ruixue was the 39th panda saved by the centre.
